The 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL Pickup
If you're going to be in the market for a new truck this winter, you'll be noticing the Jeep pickup, which is supposed to arrive within the next few months. We don't know exactly what this truck will be like, but we do know some aspects of it.
Fuel Efficient
Autoblog reported of a leaked memo indicating that the pickup will have aluminum doors as well as an aluminum hood. This is just a confirmation, though. We wouldn't dare bet that Jeep would not make efforts to increase the fuel efficiency of its new model. Every truck has improved fuel efficiency from weight reduction or alternative fuel these days.
Not Very New Looking
The Jeep has been spied and the design doesn't look like anything radically new. That's not a bad thing, though. Everyone like the classic Jeep shape, don't we? We think the bed integrates nicely into the classic cockpit design. The big difference between the pickup and, say, a 2014 Wrangler is the length, of course. The pickup is so long it looks a little bit narrow, not stout like a usual Wrangler.
Power and Transmission
Spy photos suggest the Jeep will probably have an eight-speed transmission and a couple of engine options, including a V6 and turbo 4-cylinder. This could be more punchy and exciting than it's competitors, like the Chevy Colorado and Honda Ridgeline.
